Nick Aldis Felt a Bit Betrayed after All In 2018

Nick Aldis lost the NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) World Heavyweight Championship to Cody Rhodes at All In 2018. Speaking to Inside the Ropes, Nick Aldis says he felt a bit betrayed when he found out how well everyone else knew Tony Khan. He felt there were plans for All Elite Wrestling happening then. Nick clearly wasn’t included in those discussions.   “I felt a little bit betrayed when I found out that they were all familiar, they were all aware of Tony Khan and they had been sort of plotting this thing. And so then as we progressed a couple of months forward it's sort of like, 'Oh, that's already happening, that's sort of a done deal.' In that respect, I guess I felt that I could have been informed of that sooner.  But I just looked at it from the perspective of, well, that piece of business, meaning Cody and I at All In, that did nothing but good things for everyone involved. It wasn't like people looked and went, 'Oh, he's finished.’”  In hind

Is Ridge Holland’s Retirement a Work?

Ridge Holland has had a wild career trajectory throughout and his next step could be the wildest. Retiring. On last night’s WWE NXT, Ridge Holland announced that he’s stepping away from wrestling. This is leaving many fans wondering if it’s a work or a shoot?  I personally am hoping this is a work because I think Ridge has a lot of potential. Is he the greatest in ring wrestler? No. But he’s an athlete and looks like a guy you wouldn’t want to mess with at a bar. Which is essentially what his gimmick has been so far. A big barroom brawler.  Maybe this retirement angle will lead to Ridge breaking out of that character. Into a character with more depth. We’ll see if Ridge can do that. That is assuming this is a work. Who knows? Maybe we did see the end of Ridge Holland’s career on last night’s NXT.  Give me your thoughts in the comment section below.

WWE RAW Preview March 25th 2024 Preview: The Return of CM Punk to Chicago

Tonight’s Monday Night Raw takes place live from Chicago, Illinois. The currently injured hometown hero, CM Punk will be appearing in front of the live, roaring crowd at the Allstate Arena. You can expect a massive ovation for CM Punk. CM Punk in Chicago is like Bret Hart in Canada, back in 1997.  You can expect more build towards the main event matches at Wrestlemania. We’re just under two weeks to go so you can expect Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins to have some interaction. You should also see Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins try to grow some chemistry before their tag team showdown with The Rock and Roman Reigns at the Show of Shows. We’ll also see some more development in the feud between Sami Zayn and Intercontinental Champion Gunther.  The following matches have been announced:  Jey Uso vs. Shinsuke Nakamura Sami Zayn vs. Bronson Reed Ricochet vs. JD McDonagh Ivy Nile vs. Candice LeRae Andrade vs. Ivar Does anything catch your eye? I think Jey Uso vs Shinsuke Nakamura could be a very

Mercedes Monè/Sasha Banks Expected to Debut for AEW Tonight

All Elite Wrestling’s Big Business event takes place tonight live from TD Garden. This show is expected to feature the debut of Mercedes Monè the former Sasha Banks in WWE. AEW has spent weeks hyping up her debut and fans online are extremely excited about this. Are you?   While you can’t deny her talent, not everyone is a fan of Mercedes Monè. I hope she has the impact that most think she will. She has a chance to prove that she’s an actual superstar and not just a product of the WWE machine. AEW needs a name like her to help the Women’s Division.  With Mercedes Monè you get a wrestler who main-evented a Wrestlemania in the past    5 years. You get a wrestler in who’s in the prime of her career. Most importantly, by all accounts you get a fully healthy Mercedes.  I hope she can elevate the Women’s Division in AEW. There’s enticing opponents like Toni Storm, Britt Baker, Saraya and Deonna Purrazzo. I can’t wait to see who she starts feuding with first. I wonder if you’ll see her try to

Muhammad Ali Being Inducted Into WWE Hall of Fame

WWE announced today that Muhammad Ali is going into their Hall of Fame. The late boxing great remains arguably the best heavyweight boxer ever. While he’s more known for his boxing achievements, Muhammad Ali certainly made an impact on the wrestling world.   He was the Special Guest Outside Referee of the main event of Wrestlemania 1 between Hulk Hogan and Mr. T vs Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff. Vince McMahon wanted the first Wrestlemania to be a landmark for both sports and entertainment. Getting a name like Muhammad Ali to be involved in the show was a huge get for the WWF at the time.  Muhammad Ali was involved in a highly publicized fight with wrestling legend Antonio Inoki in 1976. “The War of Worlds” On June 26th, Ali and Inoki fought to a 15-round draw at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan. The match is seen as the precursor to mixed martial arts. While Ali’s involvement in the fight brought him criticism from those in the boxing world, you can’t deny how big of an impact this f

CM Punk Gives Injury Update to Crowd

After Raw last night, Mr. Cult of Personality himself, CM Punk showed up to cut a promo in front of the live crowd. Raw was in Anaheim, California and the injured CM Punk wanted to give the fans an update on his status.  “It is not easy sitting backstage, watching the show, knowing that Anaheim showed up 11,000-strong, and y’all kept it hot all night long. Three hours, countless superstars, awesome matches. I had to come out here and feel this myself, and to let you all know, this is a bump in the road. I promise you that next time we are in Anaheim, I will be here, and I will have my boots on,” Punk said to the capacity crowd at the Honda Center.  It’s reassuring to know that despite the triceps injury that he suffered, he’ll be back in due time. As much as Cody Rhodes wants to finish his story, CM Punk wants to finish his.  It’s cool that Punk cut a promo in front of the live crowd but I’d love to see him on Raw or Smackdown every week. Even in an announcer role. Or give him

Will You Be Watching WWE Elimination Chamber at 5AM?

Will you be watching WWE Elimination Chamber this Saturday? The event starts at 6PM Australian Time, which is 5AM Eastern Time. That means that I’ll be up covering this show at 5 in the morning. I’ll be drinking a ton of coffee and probably hitting the snooze a few times.  Do you like that WWE is doing these international PLEs/PPVs? I’m not a big fan of waking up that early but it is better than waking up at 2am like if you’re in the Pacific Timezone. If you’re living on the west-coast, that is absolutely brutal.
