Seth Rollins Returns to Raw and Will Challenge Damian Priest at Money in the Bank

Seth Rollins returned to Monday Night Raw tonight after being out of action since WrestleMania. Damian Priest interrupted Rollins’ return and challenged Seth Rollins for Money in the Bank. Rollins accepted and the World Heavyweight Championship match is set for July 6th in Toronto.

Rollins got knee surgery back in April and fans weren’t sure when he would return. On Raw tonight he made it clear that he’s after the World Heavyweight Championship. Rollins was the inaugural Champion and lost the Title to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania. McIntyre’s reign was short-lived, as Damian Priest came down to cash in his Money in the Bank contract after CM Punk attacked McIntyre. McIntyre got his shot against Priest at Clash at the Castle but came up short thanks to none other than CM Punk.

Priest shifts focus now to the returning Rollins. After Seth Rollins welcomed the fans to “Monday Night Rollins” Seth declared he’s after the World Title. He looked up at the Money in the Bank briefcases and it looked like he was about to declare himself for the Money in the Bank match. That’s when Damian Priest came to the ring. Priest said he respects Rollins and wanted to cash in on him. Priest recalled when Rollins beat him to retain the World Championship. Priest said Rollins was better than him then but isn’t now. That’s when Priest told Rollins to not worry about the Money in the Bank match and instead offered him the match straight up.

How do you feel about Rollins’ return to Raw? How do you feel about him immediately challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship?

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show.       WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How they bungled this storyline, I’m not ent

Several AEW Releases Reported

PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released.   We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released.  In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents."  This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company. Maybe the third time in the future will be the charm.  I wonder what happens to Parker Boudreaux. He has the look of a future World Heavyweight Cha
