It's funny because I had a bunch of really nice meetings with Bill and would have honestly been interested in doing something. Since you brought it up, I have a lot of respect for Bill but I was surprised by that because certainly that wasn't what he said to me when he was talking to me about maybe working here at some point, which I've always been open to and I really like Bill. It's all about timing and we're doing a lot of exciting things here right now."
Despite Goldberg's comments, it sounds like Tony is still open to working with Goldberg in the future. I think it would be worth it for a giant pop and to give Goldberg the proper send-off in wrestling. Although the AEW audience may not have the same appreciation for Goldberg the way a WWE audience would, Goldberg would get a lot of attention on the company, even if the run is short lived.
Ultimately, I think it would be best for him to work something out with WWE and have his retirement match there. Goldberg was on Steve and Captain Evil last year and detailed his issues with Vince McMahon. Vince McMahon is no longer with the company and I think Paul "Triple H" Levesque would do a great job of honouring Goldberg. I know Goldberg and Paul had their issues before, but Triple H has proven time and time again that he has no issue with burying the hatchet.
If he does go to AEW, I would love to see him face off against Wardlow. Wardlow's in the same vein as wrestlers like Goldberg and Dave Bautista. Wrestlers who's intensity, size and charisma put them into superstar status.
