According to Wrestlenomics, Monday Night Raw got a big rating. Raw achieved 2,362,000 viewers which is a 32% over the previous week’s audience. It attained a rating 0.83 in the key demographic of 18-49, which is a 41% increase over the previous week.
These numbers are looking like pre-Covid numbers. Raw’s stellar performance is noticeable because it went head to head with the NCAA Men’s Tournament Finals.
Raw’s rating adds further to the discourse of “matches vs promos”. Some fans think that shows with a lot of wrestling and not many talking segments is the way to go for a show. There’s another contingency that believes talking segments and promos carry the show, while the matches are supplemental outside of PPVs.
I don’t think it matters. As long as you’re entertained by the show and it goes by at a good pace, I think it’s a good show. Whether that be 10 promos and 5 quick matches or a show with several mat classics and a couple of promos. As long as it’s a fun show it doesn’t matter.
