Bryan Danielson Set to Replace CM Punk as Marquee Name on Collision

Following the surprising termination of CM Punk, AEW needed a new face to lead Collision into the future. Enter Bryan Danielson, who made an electrifying return to the promotion and subsequently defeated Ricky Starks in a strap match at All Out. As Fightful reports, Danielson is poised to become an integral part of Collision, and fans are eager to see how this change will shape the landscape of AEW's Saturday night offerings.

Before Collision on Saturday, AEW sent out a press release letting everyone know that they have terminated CM Punk’s contract for cause. This follows CM Punk’s second suspension from the promotion and backstage incident involving Jack Perry at the previous weekend’s All In.

While CM Punk's departure left a void, AEW wasted no time in finding a replacement. Bryan Danielson, formerly known as Daniel Bryan in WWE, made his triumphant return to professional wrestling at AEW's Collision. The crowd erupted in cheers as Danielson answered Ricky Starks’ challenge for All Out.

Bryan Danielson's return was not just for show; he immediately got down to business at All Out. His strap match against Ricky Starks was a brutal and hard-hitting affair that showcased his wrestling prowess. Danielson emerged victorious, solidifying his position as a dominant force in AEW's roster.

Fightful's report that Bryan Danielson will play an integral role in Collision's future adds an exciting layer to the story. Collision's head-to-head battle with college football on Saturdays is a challenging yet significant opportunity for AEW to capture the wrestling audience during the weekend. With Danielson now in the spotlight, Collision has a new marquee name to promote. The anticipation surrounding his future matches and storylines on the show is palpable, as fans eagerly await what's in store for the American Dragon.

CM Punk's unexpected departure from AEW's Collision left big shoes to fill, but Bryan Danielson's return has given the show a renewed sense of excitement and anticipation. His victory over Ricky Starks at All Out demonstrated that he's more than capable of carrying the torch as the marquee star on Saturday nights.

Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How t...
