The Texas Chain Saw Massacre game releases on August 18th, and they’re sponsoring a brand new match between two wrestling legends in AEW. On this week’s Rampage, Jeff Jarrett announced he’ll be taking on Jeff Hardy in the first ever Texas Chainsaw Massacre Death Match on next week’s Dynamite. Dynamite ironically is being branded as Fight For The Fallen show to help the citizens of Hawaii after their horrific fires.
I imagine this will be a cinematic style match, similar to the Hardy Compound matches. I think we’ll see some unbelievable spots and probably a lot of blood. It’s a death match and it features wrestlers who aren’t afraid to bust each other open.
Jarrett told Hardy to bring his crew because he’s going to bring his. So we’re sure to see guys like Jay Lethal and Matt Hardy. Who are wrestling legends in their own right. If it is a cinematic match, both Hardy Boyz are pioneers of the style. The Hardy’s are two of the only characters you can do stuff like this and people won’t think it’s extremely campy.
I actually really like the idea of this match. Shout out to AEW for getting sponsorship dollars for matches. I’m surprised sponsored main events aren’t the norm. Like how college football brands their Bowl Games now.
