This past Royal Rumble did a massive viewer number. According to Andrew Zarian from the Wrestling Overser, the Royal Rumble got close to reaching 2 million viewers, which would make it the most watched Royal Rumble ever.
The event saw Roman Reigns retaining the Undisputed WWE Universal Title over Kevin Owens in the main event. It also saw Cody Rhodes win the Men’s Rumble match and Rhea Ripley win the Women’s Rumble.
2 million viewers is more than Raw usually gets. The Royal Rumble getting more viewers than Monday Night Raw was once unfathomable. But with Peacock being in more people’s homes, it’s easier and more affordable to watch a premium WWE show now. The Royal Rumble has been a staple of WWE programming for decades, and it continues to be one of the company's most popular events.
The increased viewership for this year's Royal Rumble can be attributed to a number of factors, including the growing popularity of WWE and the high level of excitement surrounding this year's event. With the anticipation of the Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin possibly coming back at the show, that could have been a contributing factor. Neither of the legendary wrestlers showed up.
