Why Lacey Evans NEEDS to Face Ronda Rousey

Lacey Evans is returning to WWE Smackdown tonight. She’ll be in a number one contender six-pack challenge match to face Ronda Rousey for the Smackdown Women’s Title.

She hasn’t wrestled in a couple of month. It seems like she’s been in a state of flux since she debuted on the main roster. The potential is there for her to be a big star. I think so at least. Is she the greatest in ring? No. But she doesn’t have to be.

They can hide her weaknesses and shine her strengths. The Smackdown side of the women’s roster is kind of barren and they could use a legitimate star to pair with Ronda Rousey. The Liv Morgan experiment hasn’t panned out like they wanted, but could Lacey Evans work differently?

Lacey Evans is a legitimate Marine. She fought for her country and it isn’t mentioned enough. She should be talking about her struggle in the Marine’s as a woman. Bring up her rough childhood. Then coming to WWE during a women’s revolution and fading to the back.

How she’s had to fight for everything she has. She’s an actual fighter. She’s everything that Ronda Rousey portrays to be.

There’s an opportunity for WWE here. Yesterday was the Marine Corps’ birthday. Lacey Evans was an actual Sargent in the Marines. She needs to win this match.

Lacey Evans is a megastar waiting to happen. If they can bring her real life into this, it’ll gain the respect from the audience. If they can get the audience to connect with her, it’s game over for the rest of the women.

I might be doing a live stream for Smackdown tonight over on Twitch. So please check that out. Live tweets are coming tonight.

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show.       WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How they bungled this storyline, I’m not ent

Several AEW Releases Reported

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported on Monday that announcer Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J, and Parker Boudreaux have been cut from the roster. PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released.   We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released.  In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents."  This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company. Maybe the third time in the future will be the charm.  I wonder what happens to Parker Boudreaux. He has the look of a future World Heavyweight Cha
