Eric Bischoff Is WRONG About CM Punk

Eric Bischoff is making it clear that he’s no fan of CM Punk. Eric Bischoff spoke to Wrestling Inc and has CM Punk fans, like myself fired up.

Bischoff said this to the website:

”He’s old, he’s fragile, he was never in great shape to begin with, he didn’t start out as an athlete, and now at (44) years old he’s fragile as hell,”

Punk’s status with AEW has been in flux since he went off on the All Out media scrum. Many wrestlers, fans and pundits of the business are wondering what is going to happen. I’m hoping for a CM Punk return but it looks like promoting legend Eric Bischoff is not.

“…he’s just another guy. So I don’t see the value. I can’t imagine it.” - Eric Bischoff

I completely disagree with Easy E. CM Punk still provides a ton of value to any wrestling company. Especially now. You can argue there’s more hype around CM Punk right now than there was this time last year.

There’s talk that CM Punk could wrestle anyone from Stone Cold Steve Austin to Kenny Omega to Okada to Roman Reigns. Name me one other wrestler that has that many possible dream matches? That could actually be possible.

CM Punk is still a hot commodity and had a year to prove that he can still go in the ring. When Punk came back he barely lost a step.  He’s still an alpha on the mic and in the ring.

For Eric Bischoff to say that Punk isn’t worth it is crazy. I think Eric’s still salty over the comments made by Punk about comparing his debut to the nWo’s in 1996.

It’s a good thing Eric Bischoff isn’t the one calling the shots in AEW or WWE. Follow along on Twitter for more wrestling opinions and updates. Keep it locked here. Video coming later today on this.

The State of Professional Wrestling - 11-29-21

I have a lot of thoughts on the state of professional wrestling in 2021. I think it’s great that AEW is around now and that they’re presenting a great product. I think WWE has the potential not be really boring but I think the consensus is that most of the time it’s just a really boring show. I cannot tell you the last time I sat through a 3 hour Raw. Oh wait, yes I can. September, 9th, 2013 and that’s only because I was at the damn show.       WWE has a problem with stagnation. The product continually feels the same and I think there’s an obvious reason for that. WWE is too scripted. I think there’s a noticeable difference in the presentation between WWE and AEW. AEW feels like a legitimate sports show and WWE feels like broadway theatre without the music. I don’t think it’s a problem with the talent. When you go top-down, guys like Roman Reigns, Big E, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens are all main event players.

Book This Episode 1: The Summer of Punk Rebooked Prelude

Let’s go back to 2011, specifically June of 2011. CM Punk’s contract is expiring soon and he’s getting ready to have the biggest run of his career. On June 27th, 2011 CM Punk would cut a promo that would have the wrestling world buzzing for years to come. In his promo, Punk said that his contract expired next month and that he, the Number One Contender, would be leaving  WWE with the WWE Championship. He’d also go onto take shots at not only his opponent the following month, John Cena but other icons in the history of WWE. Whether employed by the company or not. He’d also tease defending his WWE Championship in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Essentially he’d be a travelling World Champion, ala the territory days. Well, CM Punk did win the WWE Championship the next month from John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, what would happen after would disappoint wrestling fans more than anything else that’s happened in years.       How they bungled this storyline, I’m not ent

Several AEW Releases Reported

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported on Monday that announcer Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J, and Parker Boudreaux have been cut from the roster. PWInsider additionally reported that The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry have also been released.   We have word on several All Elite Wrestling releases. On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported Dasha Kuret, Stu Grayson, Jose the Assistant, Jora Johl, Gravity, Slim J and Parker Boudreaux have been released.  In addition to Sean’s announcements, PWInsider reported the release of The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) and Anthony Henry. PWInsider also notes that AEW is "evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents."  This is the second time Stu Grayson has been released from the company. Maybe the third time in the future will be the charm.  I wonder what happens to Parker Boudreaux. He has the look of a future World Heavyweight Cha
